ABOUT ME

Martial arts, traditional Chinese exercise and health systems - especially Tai Chi – have been my passion for over 35 years. I teach the full extent of the art with its
dual aspects of healing and martial skills, including traditional weapons training. I run classes in Rugby, Warwickshire.
I travelled to China, in 1988, to undertake many months of intensive training. Some of the most renowned teachers in the world taught us for up to five hours a day, six days a week, at the Beijing Sports University. My main teacher, Yang Li, was gracious enough to give me additional tuition after official training hours. The things she taught me were of the Old School. At that time China was not easy to visit and I was one of only a handful of students from outside the country who had the privilege of studying at the university.

I have studied all the 3 main Niejia (internal) styles - Taiji, Bagua & Hsing-Yi.

Face Masks are not recommended while doing exercise, by the UK Government & World Health Organization - because they are potentially harmful. For this reason & others, I operate a strict No Mask Policy in my classes.

Classes are taught with the ancient Daoist understanding of the human body, health & natural healing.

TAI CHI - BEGINNERS & ADVANCED

Complete beginners are welcome in this class. The instruction is given to a high level with traditional Tai Chi training exercises for flexibility, relaxation, internal strength and dynamic movement. Learn the Tai Chi long form of beautiful flowing movements for Body Mind Spirit.


In the second class (optional) we practice the martial arts aspects of Tai Chi including the use of weapons.

GENTLE EXERCISE - HEALTH & MOBILITY

Very suitable for any age and ability.

In This class we do a series of traditional Chinese exercises that give the whole body a very thorough but gentle stretch. The exercises improve Mobility & restore Good Health. All exercises are done standing but can be adapted to a chair.

The original Zhang Sanfeng Internal System. 

Internal Martial Arts of the highest level.
This is the original system from which all other internal systems like Tai Chi, Ba Gua and Hsing I came from.
Access to this class is through attendance in any of the other classes.
